Visa and Entry Requirements
Switzerland is part of the Schengen Area and applies the common Schengen visa rules for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
EU/EFTA citizens can enter Switzerland without a visa. A valid identity card or passport is generally sufficient.
For citizens of non-EU/EFTA countries, visa requirements depend on the traveller’s nationality. Please check the official Swiss authorities’ information to determine whether a visa is required and which entry requirements apply.
